More recent problems

Since our last blog we have been busy with more common problems.

The first was the influx of several twin spark models with crank sensor failures. The symptoms are ... starts fine from cold but when trying to restart with the engine still hot, the engine refuses to fire. When the engine has cooled down the car starts as normal.

Another problem has been the failure of Air Flow Meters. This shows as anything from uneven running, through loss of power, misfires to not starting at all. We have seen several GTV 3.0s where the problem has been caused by previously fitted incorrect sized air filters.

The most peculiar problem which we have met this week was an ignition barral failure on a 147. On pressing the brake pedal or selecting reverse, the car cut out!!!

We have also been hard at work on a really nice 2000 Berlina. We will put more information on the Projects page later
